The boy from Berdyansk, Elchyn Nazar, is already 14 years old, and from the very first day of his life, the child has been actively fighting for his life. And with him and his relatives.
According to the doctors' conclusions, Elchyk was born as a normal child, weighing 4 kg 350 g. 3 months later, during a routine examination and tests, it was found that Elchyna has low hemoglobin. The next day, the child was sent to the Zaporizhzhia Regional Children's Hospital. At the hospital, the doctors ordered a full examination and the tests were confirmed, the child received a blood transfusion and was sent home. But after 20 days, the doctors asked the parents to come to the hospital again.
Elchyn was sent to "OKHMATDIT" in Kyiv. After examinations, the child was diagnosed with: congenital hemolytic anemia, thalassemia. Doctors also found an enlarged spleen. Elchin was hospitalized for 2 weeks and prescribed treatment, after which a blood transfusion was performed and he was sent to the surgical department to examine the spleen. It had to be removed, but since the child was small, the operation was postponed for two years.
During all the years of Elchyn's life, he has a hemolytic crisis, he constantly feels bad, weak, gets tired quickly, and every month the child receives a blood transfusion.
"Our child goes to school, but he cannot sit in class for a long time, his head spins, his back hurts, it is difficult for him to carry his briefcase, and the teachers send him home after the 4th lesson. Every time the child needs to be tested, he starts throwing tantrums, it's hard for him to bear it, he rarely plays in the yard, the bones in his arms and legs hurt, he often cries," the mother tells us.
For recovery, doctors insist on surgery: a bone marrow transplant is needed. The operation is planned abroad, because a donor can be found there. The cost of finding a donor and performing the operation is $110,000. For an ordinary family, this is not just a huge amount, it is unrealistic to collect.
"I am the mother of a sick child and I am asking you to help my son, to save his life! He really wants to be well and wants to be a healthy child like other children. He has his dreams, he wants to go to school and graduate with good grades. He dreams of becoming a doctor.
